WHAT DOES AN ORGANIC SEARCH STRATEGIST DO AT SEOGADGET?

MANAGE.

As Organic Search Strategist you will be responsible for maintaining and increasing the key performance metrics of marketing and SEO campaigns for SEOgadget clients and managing those client relationships.

DISPLAY TECHNICAL EXPERTISE.

While your primary purpose is leadership in exemplary technical, strategic, content, social and SEO strategy, you’ll always be working on your own projects at the same time as potentially leading and developing a team of SEOs. Much of your initial time at SEOgadget will be providing deep technical dives into log files, analytics, webmaster tools, Microsoft IIS, and a variety of advanced code setups that can include AJAX/Hijax, AngularJS, and crawlable HTML5 to name a few.

REPRESENT.

As a representative of the SEOgadget brand and our clients’ brands, you will be expected to maintain an ethical standpoint with SEO. You will be looking to build popularity through adding value to users, working around technical and occasionally political client road blocks, and leveraging SEO value from all client digital marketing channels such as affiliate, social media and PR.

LEAD.

As a proven Organic Search Strategist leader, you will be a strong communicator and eventually a manager to Junior SEO positions within the company. You will prioritise customer satisfaction through the delivery and communication of results in search marketing. Your entrepreneurial spirit and creative flair will compel you to innovate and create bespoke marketing solutions delivering real ROI and ultimately long term client retention. Developing a wider understanding of the principles of conversion rate optimization, deep analytics setups and analysis, and how SEO fits into a company’s overall business goals, will speak directly to our purpose: Helping our clients generate higher revenue from their target audiences and ultimately making the web a better place.

AN ORGANIC SEARCH STRATEGIST IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  1. Deliverables: Technical site health audits (US and Intl), architecture drawings, on-page content wireframes, reporting setup, data-driven insights, and collaborative management of site audit tasks with clients.
  2. Time and Scope Management: Setting and achieving measurable outcomes for clients’ SEO, social, content development, content marketing or customized consulting projects to agreed scope and within deadline, while also managing your own timeline amongst several clients and projects.
  3. Client Project Management:
  4. > Top-notch, best-friend-like client management.
  5. > Build and maintain an understanding of clients’ business goals, audiences and priorities.
  6. > Devise and manage ongoing SEO technical work and content marketing campaigns using SEOgadget methodologies (as outlined in client proposals / SOWs).
  7. > Manage daily or ad-hoc requests from clients for information about their campaigns.
  8. > Maintain frequent contact with clients and be transparent about your activities.
  9. > Devise and manage strategies for visibility, links and traffic where relevant.
  10. > Provide insight on integrated digital marketing practices between PR, social media, email, analytics and content.
  11. > . Prioritize results; maintain a competitive ethos to every one of your client activities.
  12. Stay Current: Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in search engine optimization, code technologies and content marketing.
  13. Collaborate: Monthly management of and liaison with SEOgadget UK for any content marketing, CRO and technical work for our clients.
  14. Lead:Training, briefing and influencing Junior SEOs, helping them set and realize their goals.
  15. Participate: Contribute regularly to the SEOgadget blog, videos, webinars, and social channels.

ORGANIC SEARCH STRATEGIST REQUIREMENTS

  • At least 3 years agency and/or in-house experience
  • Exceptional Excel skills, pivot charting experience a plus
  • In-depth understanding of HTML5, CSS, Javascript, AJAX/Hijax and escaped fragments, and more advanced programming knowledge and experience is very big plus.
  • Experience with log file analysis, Microsoft IIS, webmaster tools
  • Link charting and profile analysis
  • A keen eye for detail, and an inquisitive mind, able to draw out trends, insights and learnings from dense, complicated data.
  • Ability to manage several clients at one time while also managing and delegating to a junior team.
  • Strong communication skills, confidence, and ability to handle the occasional demanding, inquisitive and/or absent client.
  • Ability to balance SEO recommendations with client business priorities and limitations.
