Chief Marketing Officer - ONE CLICK VENTURES


This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned marketing leader to join a fast-growing B2C online retail company. Reporting to the CEO, this senior-level position will be responsible for driving One Click's marketing strategy and day-to-day execution across our network of brands. The ideal candidate will have the expertise, vision and leadership to define marketing programs that successfully acquire new customers, and build profitable, long-term customer relationships in order to achieve our aggressive financial goals. This position requires a strong leader with high integrity who is a hands-on implementer and is comfortable functioning at both the senior management level as well as the functional marketing level.

Position Highlights:
  • Strategy & Execution: The CMO will provide a vision and strategic direction for the Marketing team. This includes developing and executing sustainable/scalable marketing programs to drive rapid, profitable growth, while achieving sales and margin objectives.
  • Tracking & Reporting: The CMO will develop effective methods to track and evaluate the performance of the organization's marketing functions. This includes data collection, interpretation of results, and instituting best practices and processes, with a focus on deploying scalable systems to report on One Click's sales success.
  • Leadership & Development: The CMO will build and shape a highly-effective, world-class Marketing team by hiring, training, inspiring, coaching, and setting leadership direction for direct reports. This includes structuring compensation and incentive plans. We have a fantastic team for you to work with, but we expect the CMO to provide career path coaching and thought leadership, managing each member to his/her full potential.
  • P&L Responsibility & Accountability: The CMO will have accountability for marketing budgets, revenue, and growth targets as well as qualitative measures to evaluate success of marketing programs. This includes preparing annual budgets, providing ongoing results analysis and forecasting, and driving prioritization of investments through quantitative business justification.
  • Customer Experience: The CMO will drive continuous improvement in the customer experience for One Click's brands, building a strategic roadmap for evolving each brand's online shopping experience and overall presence in web and mobile channels. Providing top-notch quality experiences for One Click's customers is paramount.
  • Brand Stewardship: The CMO will ensure that brand standards are developed and adhered to across all customer touch points, and that each of One Click's brands deliver on its brand promises.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team: One Click is growing and has aggressive goals to continue to grow the business. During this period of rapid growth, One Click needs very committed executives who thrive on a fast-paced, ever-changing, but highly collaborative work environment. The CMO will contribute to the overall company strategy and organizational development as a key member of the Senior Leadership team.
Additional Highlights:
  • Profitably acquire new customers through organic search, paid search, PR, social media, marketplaces, and other digital marketing programs
  • Increase customer retention and maximize lifetime value through effective use of targeted retention marketing programs
  • Oversee all design and web production developed by creative team
  • Leverage Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) testing techniques to drive customer engagement and revenue
  • Passionate about continual measurement -- set and refine key metrics (KPIs) for success in all channels/roles and evaluate progress against them
  • Oversee the development of promotional strategies for each One Click brand
  • Collaborate with team members in Business Intelligence, Finance, IT, Merchandising, and Operations to achieve financial objectives
  • Proactively gather and utilize intelligence from ecommerce, digital marketing, customers, competition, and verticals to understand business risks and support the expansion and optimization of existing products and initiatives that will drive increased customer acquisition and retention
  • Identify, select, and manage external partners; ensure they meet performance objectives
  • Oversee the tools and technology to support the execution of marketing strategies
  • Negotiate vendor contracts and arrangements
Qualifications:
  • Full alignment with our core values
  • 10+ years experience in digital marketing or related disciplines with 3-5 years experience leading a team (online retail experience a plus)
  • Proven track record in bringing a blend of creativity, business acumen, and passion to produce successful, innovative, and cost effective campaigns
  • Strong experience with a wide range of digital marketing activities, including but not limited to email, social, SEM, SEO, and affiliate
  • Metrics-driven and ROI-focused with a disciplined, analytical approach to management and decision-making based on facts and data
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel -- you should love spreadsheets and lots of data
  • High energy individual with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude
  • Strong proficiency in web analytics (Google Analytics, Coremetrics, etc) and testing/optimization techniques
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously, while meeting deadlines and business objectives
  • Must be someone who is energized by a challenge and enjoys the entrepreneurial spirit of a small company
  • Exudes confidence both internally and externally
  • Ability to work across functions and within an executive team to catalyze change in a positive, collaborative, and transparent way
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate analyses up and down the organization to influence others
  • Ability to manage at both the strategic and operational level
  • Ultimate team player with ability to work with team members at all levels of the organization
  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field
  • MBA preferred, but not required
