Craftsy has an opening for an enthusiastic, creative and innovative Search Engine Optimization Associate to join our team! We're looking for an individual with a commitment to quality, serious optimization skills and the ability to see connections in order to develop, link and deliver content in the most effective way. We want passionate enthusiasts to discover and engage with Craftsy often and seamlessly across our web presence and this role will help make that possible. Craftsy is growing, and our SEO Associate will contribute to both the scalability and quality of our content marketing whether quilting, sewing, cake decorating, knitting, or one of our new and emerging categories.

As our SEO Associate, you will:

• Evaluate and edit content to drive SEO outcomes and to create engaging meta data that improves rankings and increases click through rates (CTR) from search engines
• Maintain a customer perspective through analytical and search driven activities to ensure the voice of our brand shines through and translates into compelling, well written (and searchable!) content
• Become a Craftsy content expert and partner with our Online Editor to define and deliver strategic and revenue generating links across courses, patterns, projects and eCommerce
• Research, prioritize and focus keyword implementation in line with Craftsy objectives
• Recognize and seize opportunities to promote our pieces across the web leading to authoritative and effective links to our site and content
• Support customer acquisition and retention objectives through effective SEO strategies, increasing our ability to capture visitors and revenue
• Deliver quantifiable SEO data and reports aligned with key metrics to build insights, assess progress and refine tactics
• Maintain an open, learning mindset and quickly adapt to new or emerging best practices and industry trends
• Tackle new and unforseen SEO opportunities and initiatives in line with responsibilities outlined above

Your background should include, but doesn't need to be limited to:

• 1-2 years experience creating search-optimized and user-friendly copy
• Proven results in search engine optimization strategies and tactics and a willingness to take on all execution activities
• Demonstrated ability to write and edit compelling content that generates search engine outcomes (even better if you've worked with content for one of our core or expanding Craftsy categories!)
• Success writing meta data for SEO and visitor engagement
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Demonstrated ability and experience with content management tools like WordPress or dotCMS
• Interest and ability to work with diverse teams and take on new and expanding tasks similar to those outlined
• Ability to take direction and effectively execute against multiple simultaneous activities to achieve desired outcomes
• Exceptional data gathering and analysis skills
• Experience and interest in working in a fast paced, changing and collaborative environment
• Education, certification, publications, etc. that support your ability to contribute to Craftsy as described
