Junior Social Media Strategist - PORTENT, INC.
Have you mastered the art of Tweeting, Pinning, Tumbling, Goo+ing and Facebooking for a variety of audiences? Can you juggle twenty tabs in three different web browsers and still manage to keep a pulse on multiple clients and what’s trending? Do you relish geeking out about the latest Reach trends on Facebook and figuring out new and interesting ways to demonstrate the impact of your social wins? If you answered YES to these questions, then we need to talk.
It isn’t enough to just have a Facebook account and a Twitter following. Loving social media isn’t enough, either. We need a detail-oriented junior social media professional with the savvy to dig into the “why” behind the “what” and the content creation chops to execute social content on behalf of Portent and our clients - day in and day out. Strong writing and editing skills are essential.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Brainstorm, develop, and write daily social updates on platforms including: Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, and more
- Contribute to the creation, development, and implementation of social media strategies across social platforms
- Implement contests and giveaways through social platforms in cooperation with designers, producers and other key stakeholders
- Help develop educational documents on the latest social advancements, best practices, tools, and updates
- Collaborate with internal teams including account strategists, content strategy, design, development, PPC, sales, SEO and senior leadership to deliver top-notch products and services to clients
- Track the success of social campaigns by leveraging analytics in creation and development of social strategies
- 1 year of related work experience
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Excellent attention to detail, copyediting, and writing skills, and the ability to generate polished, publishable copy on tight schedules
- Ability to juggle social “listening” and monitoring with work on projects and deliverables, and the ability to switch gears efficiently to work on a mix of creative, tactical, and strategic projects
- Experience publishing to Facebook and Twitter as an administrator on behalf of a company or brand
- Some awareness of and an interest in social analytics
- Familiarity with Excel for creating and modifying social media reports
- Experience working in online marketing in-house with brands and/or in an agency setting
- Working knowledge of YouTube (including channel and video optimization), Tumblr, Pinterest, , and other social networks
- Possess a flair for relationship- and community-building in online forums
- Experience with social management tools (e.g. Facebook Insights, Google Analytics, Hootsuite)
- Familiarity and hands-on experience with social media analytics and reporting
